In this talk, we will investigate linear implicit systems of differential equations, also known as systems of differential-algebraic equations. We are interested in the local algorithmic reduction of these types of systems in the neighbourhood of a singular point. We will review some recent results and discuss currently open problems and a strategy to solve them.
